Founding and Strategic Partner: MWAN
The National Center for Waste Management (MWAN), established by Council of Ministers Decree No. 457 (April 17, 2019) as the Regulator of the waste sector in Saudi Arabia with a mandate that covers all waste steams (except nuclear and military wastes) and emphasizes the promotion of private investment. The New Waste Management Law (Law No. M/3 – August 11, 2021) further confirmed the role of MWAN in leading the national transformation of the waste sector based on circular economy principles.
Through solid legislation, licensing, strategic planning and robust oversight, MWAN is creating the foundation that ensures sustainable, efficient, and innovative waste infrastructure and management across Saudi Arabia.
As the Strategic Partner with Messe München and dmg events, MWAN and the water regulators in Saudi Arabia are fully supporting the launch of IFAT Saudi Arabia 2026, reinforcing the Kingdom’s leadership in adopting new environmental technologies and showcasing its commitment to sustainable development and investment in the waste and water sectors.
